Cultural change
Working with employers in areas such as Train to Gain means a new approach for learning providers. You will need to change the culture of your organisation and its people to respond to the needs of employers and deliver the flexible training they want. Your staff are probably unused to developing provision which starts from the perspective of employers’ business needs, working with employed, adult learners, working more flexibly and delivering learning at or near the workplace at a time to suit the client, working with small groups or one-to-one, basing programme design on the diagnosis of needs of the business, work role and individuals, working in effective partnerships or developing ‘fit for purpose’ administrative procedures. A major part of this will be to instill into staff the importance of customer care and its impact on the way you work.
