Induction

Induction is an effective tool in promoting, challenging and improving learners’ understanding and knowledge of their rights and responsibilities and identifying strategies used to challenge stereotyping and inappropriate vocational cultures.

All learners need to have a thorough and detailed induction to their programme of learning. This is so that they can understand the benefits to themselves and their employer of completing the programme, and they are fully aware of the implications involved. They need a clear overview of the programme they will be following, detailed guidance on the requirements for completing the qualification successfully, shows them the quantity and type of work involved, clarifies your role, and that of their employer, workplace supervisor, trainer, assessor and internal verifier, identifies the working practices that will be used in training, assessing, reviewing progress, verification and IAG on Progression, and gives them an agreed completion date for the programme.
